Aftercare
As discussed elsewhere on the site, weight loss surgery is for life and it is likely you will need significant aftercare. All the research suggests, and our experience shows, that the people who do best long term are the people with good long term aftercare and support.
Whatever route you choose for surgery you should establish, before your operation, what aftercare is included and what aftercare the surgeon thinks you are likely to need in the future. Take a look at the forums and read up on what other people seem to routinely require.
If you are self funding then there are several companies and/or individuals who provide aftercare services. Many UK surgeons do not offer separate aftercare packages to patients they did not operate on.
